Jerry Friedman is an Associate Vice President in the Office of Health Sciences, where he directs external relations and advocacy for The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and advises the Senior Vice President for Health Sciences and Dean of the College of Medicine regarding health policy and strategic positioning of the enterprise. He established and is the Executive Sponsor of the Ohio Colleges of Medicine Government Resource Center; serves on the OSU President’s and Provost’s Council on Women; and the editorial board of the College of Medicine’s Discovery Journal.
He has previously served as President of the Ohio Children’s Hospital Association; Legislative Counsel to the Ohio Department of Human Services; Chief of the Bureau of Medicaid Policy; and Counsel to the Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee.
Jerry has been active in government and community affairs since his undergraduate and law school days at The Ohio State University. He is active on the national level with the Association of American Medical Colleges, The National Association of Public Hospitals and the Association of Academic Health Centers. Locally, he serves on the Board of AccessHealth Columbus; the Oversight, and Advisory Boards of Partners Achieving Community Transformation, and he co-chairs the Health & Wellness Committee of the Weinland Park Collaborative. He also serves as a member of the Franklin County Human Services Levy Review Commission.
